Hello everyone, I'm back!
We just went through a "reflex marathon" in Unit 1.3 with rapid-fire Yes/No questions about Taylor. How did it feel? Is your brain starting to get used to popping out English?
But remember: The ultimate goal of TAYLOGIC isn't to turn you into a dictionary about Taylor's life. The goal is to help you talk about your own life. In reality, no one asks you "parroted" questions. They'll ask open-ended questions, ones that foster connection and sharing.
Today, in the Real-life Questioning section, we'll take slices from Taylor's story as a springboard for everyday conversations.
Upgraded rules:
- Answer with a Keyword immediately (break the mental translation barrier).
- Answer with a Real-life Sentence (speak like a native, use natural language, not academic).
Let's get real!
Stage 1: City, Work & Pressure
Based on: My name is Taylor. I live in a large city. I am a software engineer. My job is difficult. Sometimes, I feel tired. I often consider moving back to my home village.
- Q: Do you live in a big city too, or are you a country soul?
- Keyword: Big city.
- Answer: I live in a big city, but honestly, I'm a country soul at heart. I need more green space!
- Q: Is your job as stressful as Taylor's software engineering gig?
- Keyword: Pretty intense.
- Answer: It's pretty intense, man. Some days I just want to shut down my laptop and disappear.
- Q: What's the worst part about living in a crowded city for you?
- Keyword: The traffic.
- Answer: Definitely the traffic. It's a total nightmare during rush hour; it just eats up my day.
- Q: Have you ever seriously considered quitting everything to move to a village?
- Keyword: All the time.
- Answer: All the time! I dream about having a small garden and just living a simple life.
- Q: How do you handle it when you feel tired of the "daily grind"?
- Keyword: Travel.
- Answer: I usually just pack a bag and travel somewhere new for the weekend to clear my head.
Stage 2: Nature, Memories & Balance
Based on: My village is near a beautiful blue river. In the spring, the weather is warm. I remember the simple things. The natural world is peaceful. I realize every person needs a balance.
- Q: Do you have a "happy place" in nature like Taylor's village?
- Keyword: My grandma's house.
- Answer: Yeah, my grandma's house by the beach. It's the only place where I can truly relax.
- Q: What are the "simple things" in life that make you smile?
- Keyword: Good coffee.
- Answer: Just a good cup of coffee and some peace and quiet in the morning. That's all I need.
- Q: Does the weather affect your mood as much as it affects Taylor?
- Keyword: Totally.
- Answer: Totally! If it's sunny, I'm full of energy. But if it's gray and rainy, I just want to stay in bed.
- Q: How do you find your balance after a crazy fast-paced week?
- Keyword: Digital detox.
- Answer: I try to do a digital detox. No phone, no emails, just me and a good book.
- Q: What's one thing from your childhood "past life" that you miss the most?
- Keyword: Playing outside.
- Answer: I really miss playing outside until sunset without worrying about a single thing.
Stage 3: Passion, Curiosity & Problem-solving
Based on: When I was a boy, I loved to paint. I had a curious mind. I asked my teacher a thousand questions. Now, I use my mind to build software. Sometimes, I face a big problem and find a smart solution.
- Q: What were you obsessed with when you were a kid?
- Keyword: Building Lego.
- Answer: I was obsessed with building Lego. I could spend hours creating whole cities on my bedroom floor.
- Q: Are you still a curious person, or has "adulting" killed that?
- Keyword: Still curious.
- Answer: I think I'm still pretty curious. I'm always googling random stuff to figure out how things work.
- Q: How do you react when you face a "big problem" at work?
- Keyword: Stay calm.
- Answer: I try to stay calm, grab a snack, and then look at the problem from a different angle.
- Q: Are you good at finding "smart solutions," or do you prefer following the rules?
- Keyword: A bit of both.
- Answer: A bit of both, I guess. I like rules, but sometimes you've gotta think outside the box to get things done.
- Q: What's the last thing you learned that made you feel that "sense of wonder"?
- Keyword: Space photos.
- Answer: I saw some new photos of deep space the other day. It was mind-blowing how huge the universe is.
Stage 4: Connection, Achievement & Coming Home
Based on: I try to connect different systems. The final result is excellent! I finally decide to take a short trip. I want to see my family. Life is a journey.
- Q: Do you feel like your life is "connected" or a bit messy right now?
- Keyword: A bit messy.
- Answer: Honestly, it's a bit messy, but I'm working on connecting the dots one day at a time.
- Q: How do you celebrate when you achieve an "excellent result" at something?
- Keyword: Nice dinner.
- Answer: I usually treat myself to a nice dinner or a fancy drink. You've gotta celebrate the wins, right?
- Q: When was the last time you took a "short trip" to recharge?
- Keyword: Last month.
- Answer: Just last month! I went hiking for two days and it was exactly what I needed.
- Q: How often do you get to return home and see your family?
- Keyword: Not often enough.
- Answer: Not often enough, unfortunately. I try to visit them at least once every few months.
- Q: Do you agree that we sometimes need to "step back to move forward"?
- Keyword: 100 percent.
- Answer: 100 percent. You can't just keep running forever; you need to pause and reflect sometimes.
Why are we doing this?
You see, when we take English out of Taylor's "comfort zone" and connect it to the rhythm of your life, the language starts to come alive. Taylor uses "Connect" for computers, while you use "Connect" to talk about balance in your soul.
Your exercise: Don't just read. Pick 3 questions that "resonate" most with you, stand in front of a mirror, and answer them using your own information.
Are you ready for the finale? See you at Unit 1.5: Social Conversation https://vulehuan.com/en/blog/2026/5/taylogic-unit-15-the-connected-taylor-social-dNk5wlxlOmL, where we'll turn all these pieces into a real conversation!
Stay real, stay connected!
