Click "Add to Chrome" on the right side of the page.

A pop-up asks you to confirm. Click "Add extension."

A new tab asks you to create an account. If you have one, click "Import an existing wallet". Follow the prompts.

MetaMask asks permission to collect usage data.

Create a password to unlock the wallet. If you forget it, reset it with the "Secret Recovery Phrase" from the following steps. MetaMask cannot retrieve or reset your password.

Create a "Secret Recovery Phrase" and store it securely, such as in a password manager, a safe deposit box, or multiple secret places only you can access and trust. Do not share the "Secret Recovery Phrase" with anyone, including MetaMask; doing so could result in theft of your funds.

Pin the MetaTask extension to Chrome.
